Today is "I like Thursdays" and time to post positive things on the internet. Our hostess is Lee Anna at Not Afraid of Color and you can go to her blog for other positive posts!
I like flowers before snow storms:
Tonight we are supposed to get our first snow. Only 1-3 inches are expected but I wanted to brighten the house.
My husband drove to Detroit instead of traveling by air. When I suggested he drive, he wasn't too keen. But then he looked up the amount of driving time (only 9 hours) and decided it was do-able if he did a two day trip. He doesn't need the hassle at the airports right now, or exposure to covid, plus I packed his favorites food for him. This is a huge relief and I'm very grateful he chose to travel by car for now. He seemed relieved too.
PS- Of course we are getting snow right after he leaves.
Today Mom and I are having an indoor picnic!
She's bored and I don't blame her. So I already made some chicken, am preparing macaroni salad as I write this, and some fruit. We'll have lunch together and then begin watching her Brokenwood Mysteries DVDs I bought her. If I actually sit and watch some with her, she'll get hooked. She's been watching too much news lately and that is not good for anyone.
Hoping you are all safe and having a wonderful day!

Those are such pretty flowers, Michele! I hope your hubby got to Detroit safely and didn't run into snow. Love your picnic idea with your mom, and we love Brokenwood!
Thank you for suggesting the Brokenwood Mysteries back in your Dec 23rd blog. We have been able to get these DVD's from the library and are very much enjoying them. We had never heard of them before you suggested them. They are very well done and the scenery is wonderful!
It's been snowing here on the Plateau all day (and it's our second snow of the season). I suggested we drive to San Diego later this month, but DH was not enthusiastic about that ...
Hi Michele! I would absolutely much prefer a road trip to flying right now. I hope he made it safely to Detroit? Of course you're having a snow storm, now that he isn't home. That would naturally follow! An indoor picnic sounds like so much fun! We might just need to do that with Dominic and Addison someday soon. Enjoy! The macaroni salad sounds delicious and nice and summery for a cold winter day. Happy Thursday! {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne
That is SUCH a long drive, but I think I'd rather drive that than fly, too. Beautiful flowers. Hope you enjoyed your picnic!
Good Luck to hubby with his driving. You are right, airports look like a right mess just now. Sounds like a great meal for you and Mom and I like the Brokenwood Mysteries too. We've been rewatching The Vicar of Didley lately too. Your Mom might enjoy that.
