Cherry mornings I like...

Good morning and happy autumn!  Back after a busy week, I want to encourage you to visit LeeAnna our hostess at Not Afraid of Color and visit other happy websites.

FIRST NEWS:  Carol is coming home October 8!!!  She had her stroke in June and will still require 24 hour care at home but at least she can come home!!!  Physically she has gotten much stronger but she is still very confused which is why she needs support.

Scout and I are walking every morning at the park.  We have been enjoying the 10 or so ducks each morning that we see in the same place.  Turns out that ducks like cherries and we see them under the cherry tree every day!
The ducks can't actually chew the cherries so they gum --er--beak the fruit into submission.  They look hilarious as they do this.  They must REALLY love cherries.  They hop into the lake when I approach with Scout but as soon as we pass, they are running back to their beloved tree.  You can see the mallard below (to the right) with one.

Earlier in the summer, I noticed a young heron.  The heron is almost through adolescence now and lives on the island in the lake.   The bird has grown so fast!

I like clouds.  I like these formations which I think are called Cirrus.  I just call them beach clouds because to me, they seem to mimick the ocean rolling on the sand.

I can't seem to get your comments unless I hunt for them these days and I apologize for not responding to what you write.  Someone asked if the roses on the top of the page are from my garden.  Yes, but it is an older photograph because our roses have been suffering because of all the rain.  The yellow rose above the Carol paragraph bloomed before the last rain storm.

Have a wonderful week!

I like Thursday: September 13, 2018

Keeping all in the path of Hurricane Flo in our prayers and thoughts!  Please stay safe dear friends!

Good morning!  Today is Thursday and time for some positive thoughts through the blogosphere!  Check out more happy posts at LeeAnna's!

Don't you love your first cup of coffee of the morning?  I do.  It's especially necessary when the mornings are so dark now.

I like how green the grass looks after rain.  With all the rain we have had, our grass is REALLY green 😊

Our weather is so weird we actually had the rainbow before the rainstorm:

I like ladybugs!

I took Scout to our local Woofstock celebration and she discovered she didn't like storm troopers :)  She did have a wonderful time and I wish I had a photo of her face when we drove in the park.  This is the park we walk in every morning and when she saw it was filled with dogs, she looked absolutely surprised and delighted!  We had a wonderful time!

We are expecting company from Maine next week so I'm not sure I'll be blogging next week.  Have a wonderful day!

Another top done!

Nothing like a rainy Sunday to catch up on sewing.  This morning I finished another top.  I just liked the fabric and am going to do something with some of the scraps as well.
Poppy lap quilt
The color is off slightly because of the drab weather right now but you get the idea.

I hope you are having better weather than we are!  It's going to be a soggy week for us.  Let's all say prayers for those folks along the eastern coastal region who may be in Hurricane Florence's path!

I Like Thursday, September 6, 2018

It feels very weird for it to be September already.  The summer just slipped away.  Join LeeAnna at Not Afraid of Color for more positive energy!

I like mornings in the park!

When I was a child I was fascinated with all the stepping stones that crossed the lagoon at various areas.  It seemed magical to me!

I like finishing Peter and Jessica's quilt!

I like the visit we received from my friend Diana and her granddaughter--3 year old Nora.  Nora and Scout had a wonderful day playing!

And then, just like that, they both fell sleep in deep naps!

I hope you have a wonderful day!

Happy Labor Day!

Have a fun and restful day!  I thought you would enjoy seeing this old photo in my collection.  According to the script at the bottom of the photograph, this is the Labor Day Committe of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen and their Ladies Auxilary.  I even have the pin that goes with the photograph.
Have a safe and happy holiday!
