I Like Thursdays: October 15, 2026

We have an owl in our neighborhood!

We've been hearing the owl hoot while we walk the dog at night.  We haven't had one around for quite a few years.  It's so neat to hear it!

My hand surgery is next week.  I'm actually looking forward to be sew again without pain.  My brother is a hoot about this.  He's lined up a bunch of British shows for me to watch as I heal.  Of course my favorite shows are quilting youtube channels.  My favorite is From Small Things.  Do you have a favorite youtube channel?

 

LeeAnna's prompt this week focuses on comfort foods we like making in the autumn.  My husband loves when I start baking again and nags me for pumpkin bread.  I like simple things.  Grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup is fine by me.

I feel like I'm finally getting things done.  I've been cooking for weeks and freezing meals for hubby to heat up after my surgery (in 11 days).  I did not caregive on Tuesday and stayed at home and fall cleaned the first floor.  I was beat afterwards and didn't even stay at my guild meeting.  I went home and Lucky and I were asleep by 9!

I'm grateful for Youtube these days.  There isn't much on the regular channels now that the Phillies are done for the year.  I think my favorite channel is "From Small Things" hosted by Sue in Southwest PA.  She doesn't live that far from me and I like her style of quilting (scrappy and also traditional).
