A couple more finishes off my list:

An early post because my husband is coming home this weekend and I am not sure I will have time to post my finishes on February 2.   But the good news is==I have a few more UFOs to check off my list!  I was more productive at the beginning of the month than the end but I will take any check on my list I can get.  I should also say that there was a project that I just tossed because I didn't want it anymore and it was annoying me to look at it.  So here is what is done:
Mug Rugs

Table square made with left over blocks

2 premie quilts ready for our guild!  6 down, 26 to go! :)
Have a great weekend everyone!

Just Right Cottage...

Before Christmas, I had the girls over to play and make presents.  On my invitation, I invited them to "poodle cottage" but of course, after I mailed the invitation, I realized there was a better name for our home:
Just Right Cottage!
It came to me after I thought about putting this quote at the bottom of this vintage pattern:

This is my year to try different things and use up what I have; so I used some of my old buttons along the bottom, also used embroidery stitches to quilt the whole thing.  I used the seed stitch along the bottom of the hill as my quilting and another for the sky (all white on white), mostly as an experiment.  You can't tell on these photos, but I was really surprised how flat it lay.
I also just want to be content with what I have and accept that this little house is "just right" for my husband and I.  I've been getting rid of a lot of things and that helps!
I'm still working on UFOs (this was on the list).  This month I had some health challenges (not the flu), I'm okay now and looking forward to getting more work done!
Have a great day!  It's snowing and we are expecting ice later so I'm hibernating.  Stay safe and warm!

Thank you Martha!

It's funny how well we can all get to know each other via  the internet, isn't it?  I just received this awesome children's handkerchiefs in the mail from Martha and I am just ga-ga about them.  Thank you so much Martha!  They are adorable and will be absolutely treasured!!!  The one with the little boy and the goose (biting the boy) even brought back a memory for me!  When my son was about 18 months old we would walk to the park and feed the ducks and geese.  One goose bit Peter but he didn't cry, just wanted to bite the goose back :D

Thank you Martha, this was so sweet of you and I will be displaying these in my little doll area!

Gazunteight!

I've been eyeing two sweet children's hankies at the flea market for months... and yesterday, I finally broke down and purchased them.  It isn't that they were expensive, I just wasn't sure what I would do with them, although I might consider making a mini quilt containing various kid's hankies...
These are super cute though.  The handkerchiefs have a neat component...the animals hankies aren't tacked down but move for playful fingers (on the dog it is actually removable from the pocket) and I imagine it encouraged some sweet children to use their hankies instead of their sleeves :)  Anyway since everyone we know seems to be sick with head colds, I figured it was a good time to post them:

Stay warm and healthy!  Have a great day!

Yes I'm loading up the blog...

STILL with photos of projects to work on during 2013.  Including what I want to organize today after I get Christmas packed up.  One set of projects I have are what I call the "mobile projects".  I am the main care giver in most family situations and have learned to keep a bag of hand sewing by the front door, in case I'm called to rush someone to the hospital.  I've got a lot of blocks to use up and embroidery projects to finish:

And lastly, some things that I'm going to change probably and other miscellaneous things:

Well that is enough of unfinished projects!  I'm off to clean up the Christmas mess and get the house back in order!  Have a great day!

Happy New Year!

Hope you had a wonderful New Year's Eve!  Ours was typically uneventful; we did text the kids happy wishes and learned the grandkids were going bowling with their parents last night (this story is sure to be a hoot!).  Today we are having the typical Pennsylvania Dutch pork and sauerkraut dinner.

Brad is back to work tomorrow so I'll be de-Christmasing the house and getting back to normal life.  I'm still categorizing UFOs including the "no excuse" pile that are ready for quilting or binding:

 Have a wonderful day!
