I Like Thursday: February 28, 2019

I like my puppy, Scout!  She is so pretty and a sweet girl!
Tomorrow is her birthday and her Auntie Sandra and Uncle Dennis far away in Canada remembered that her birthday is tomorrow, March 1.

 They sent her a card!!!
"Thank you Auntie and Uncle!"
Good memories of my darling girl!

For other positive posts, check out LeeAnna at Not Afraid of Color.  Her puppy Milo is Scout's brother and I'm sure they will be celebrating as well!
Have a great day!

I like Thursday: Think Spring! February 21, 2019

"Despite the forecast, live like it's spring!"

26 days until Spring!

How are you today?

It's Thursday and time for "I like Thursdays" hosted by LeeAnna at Not Afraid of Color.  Please join her to check out other happy posts!

Despite the spring countdown, it's still chilly here.  We had snow and more ice yesterday and last night.  Scout thinks it is a good time to cuddle with toys.

The weather is supposed to get warmer for the next few days and we had a nice day last week when the temps hit 60 F.  It was wonderful to visit the park with the puppy.  Hopefully we will get over there again in the next few weeks if the weather does indeed get warmer.

What do you think about when you can't sleep?  I plan my garden.  This year I am gutting the front yard garden and giving away a lot of plants to friends.  It's just time.  Somethings are growing out of control, other plants I simply regret.  Sunlight in the garden changes as nearby trees and plants grow.  It's time reassess.
Then there are the flowers I would like to incorporate.

I like David Austin roses and would love to have at least one in my garden.  They have this full old fashioned look to them.

I've always had foxgloves in my garden but this spring I intend to sow some seeds for this paler color.

I hope you have a wonderful week full of the promise of spring!

Happy Valentine's Day! February 14, 2019

Happy Valentine's Day!
It's Thursday and time for "I like Thursday" sponsored by LeeAnna at Not Afraid of Color!

My husband was so excited a week ago because "crazy quilt" was one of the answers on his crossword puzzle!  He does a bunch of these puzzles each day but never had this answer before.  The clue was "Hodge podge".

34 Days Until Spring!

Last weekend I watched the Mr. Rogers documentary on Netflix.  It was wonderful!

This is the little lab puppy from our dog training school.  He is hilarious!

His name is "Bo" and he has grown leaps and bounds since our first class 5 or 6 weeks ago.  He is very young (I'd say about 6=8months) and refused to do anything being taught him (including walking).  Just say "heal" and the boy would lay down on the floor and do nothing.  His people would plead and cajole and bribe but he would just lay on the floor as they tried to drag him along.  Any time he actually takes a few steps, the whole class erupts in applause and laughter. We love him! Each week he is just getting bigger and bigger...but that is puppyhood for ya.

I hope you have a pleasant and fun week!  Take care!

Happy Thursday! February 7, 2019

40 Days Until Spring!!!

We've had glorious weather this week and nearly all the snow is melted!
The snow drops are up and that is always a welcome sign.  It's true, we could still have snow in the next month or so but I'm enjoying the sunshine we have now and the more tepid temperatures.

My mother's birthday was this past week and we enjoyed watching Scout trying to figure out the roomba type cleaner we got Mom!  My Son and Daughter-In-Law came up for the weekend and made a huge brunch for all of us on Sunday.  It was wonderful and my Mom is still marveling how wonderful it was :)

I wasn't much interested in the super bowl this week but I like the kitten bowl and puppy bowl on tv that day.  Scout liked it too.  Whenever the human announcers broke into the game, she made funny moans as if to say "Go away, I want the animals back!"

That's all for today!  Visit other positive posts at LeeAnna's here.
 Have a wonderful week!
