I am so grateful that the days are getting longer!
There are only 56 days until spring!
It's Thursday and time to acknowledge what we are thankful for by posting some positive things on the internet. "I Like Thursdays" is sponsored by LeeAnna and you can find more positive blogs by visiting her website!
This past week has been quiet. We had snow and ice on Saturday and Scout and I spent the weekend hibernating from the cold. Since we couldn't walk in the snow, we spent a lot more time playing in the house.
Scout sporting her favorite toy that we call "Rocky Racoon." She isn't allowed to get groomed right now and in the evenings I've been brushing her which she had always hated but is beginning to enjoy. She pats my knee at night to brush her now!
I spent the weekend working on hearts. I'm a big fan of the "I found a quilted heart" program and decided to work on some. These aren't done; I made a bunch of them and am going to finish them up this weekend.
I'm still working on suffrage centennial programs. I have two new lectures I'm writing to give at some local historical societies and museums. I had ordered these pins from Zazzle and received them this week. They are fantastic (the colors are slightly off because it was early when I photographed them).
The news is bleak these days and so yesterday I posted one of my Mom's favorite suffrage stories on the Pennsylvania Piecemaker blog. The ending of the story always makes her laugh; it's hard for the elderly at this time of year. I've been keeping her busy with craft projects this winter and it seems to be helping her through these inclement days.
I hope you are finding joy each day too! Have a wonderful day!

How wonderful that Scout is learning to enjoy brushing. Rex always hated it but needed it in the worst possible way. What interesting research you are doing. I have to remind myself to read more non fiction. Your quilted hearts are perfect.
Hi Michele! Scout is sitting so darn nicely. I'm glad she is enjoying the brushing. I always wondered why dogs don't like that - I think it feels nice and relaxing. Now that she knows the whole thing maybe that's why she is more accepting of it. How nice that you're keeping your mom busy with some craft projects. That's much better than attempting to go out and slipping/falling. ~smile~ Roseanne
I was hoping to read your post today and find out how many days it is until Spring, and there it is! :) I love the "I found a quilted heart" program - had never heard of it before. I've been sewing little hearts without knowing what they were for, and now I do!
Scout is so pretty, glad she is enjoying her brushing. I so enjoy reading your Pennsylvania Piecemaker's posts. Thanks for all the research to educate.
Scout looks like a goof! LOL Your photo of the sky is beautiful.
I love the idea of those quilted hearts! I've never heard of that program, I should make some!!
Yes, we just can wait until spring is here. Even though our winter hasn't been too bad this season. Scout, we just love your Rocky Racoon toy. It looks like a lot of fun to play with. Thanks for the wonderful share. Have a fantastic upcoming weekend.

scout pats your knee to brush her... oh how sweet. Milo just started with his ears again... better groom him in case we have to get another ear treatment. I just watched some old videos on the library of congress site, from suffragettes era.
What a wonderful inspiring post. Those hearts are adorable. Do you give them away?
I am so looking forward to Spring! I love seeing the days get longer again. Your hearts project looks very interesting. It sounds like a great program.
