Hello and welcome to another edition of "I like Thursdays" sponsored by Leeanna at Not Afraid of Color.
This week my husband and I are enjoying corn on the cob and tomatoes. There's something about local or homegrown food that just can't be beat. This brings us to LeeAnna's prompt this week:
"do you like particular foods for summer dinners? do you use a recipe or combine whatever ingredients you have on hand?"
I like anything that is easy these days...especially after a hectic day (in the garden or caring for people). This is the time of year that I use up all the good food I froze in the late winter and early spring. I'm always grateful for the leftover meatloaf, chicken, and other meals we froze. Today I making Taco Salads with chili I froze earlier in the year.
I like that the weather was wonderful at the beginning of the week. I did a lot of gardening and it felt so good for both Lucky and I to be in the garden each morning.
The heat is back now and I'll be going back to sewing. Wishing you all a happy and safe weekend!

Leftovers are the best!
We're just about to get our first tomato here and local corn is in the grocery store. So yummy!
We enjoy the same foods this time of year and I tend to go lighter for our main meal too. I love a good watermelon. Leftovers are always a bonus.
