I Like Thursdays: August 22, 2019

Good Morning!  It's "I Like Thursday" sponsored by LeeAnna at Not Afraid of Color.  Visit her blog for other positive posts!

We are nearing the end of our fourth heat wave this summer.  Tomorrow is supposed to be cooler.  I finished binding one quilt this week so far:
This quilt was made of leftovers and scraps.  I used the last of the nesting doll fabric and the orange fabric and just about used up all the aqua.  It's so satisfying to use up fabric!

What do you think about when you are sewing?  I usually end up thinking of my next project as I sew.  I'm working on an I-spy quilt and would like to make a lot more of them.  They make great donation quilts!

The peegee hydrangea tree is blooming and as always, full of busy bees and butterflies.  This time of year it is just swarming with happy insects!

We are also enjoying all the butterflies in the garden.  They seem to enjoy the zinnias just as the flowers are opening:

Today I'll be sewing and visiting with my friend Linda.  She is a gardener too and called last night to suggest we get together today since tomorrow will be great gardening weather!  Should be a fun day!

Have a great day and enjoy your weekend!  Hope your weather is good too!

Hi Michele! I hope you will enjoy your gardening day with your friend. My friends never call me to garden - maybe to sewing or stitch or scrapbook though. I can feel just a touch of Fall in the air this morning. ~smile~ Roseanne

Love the photo in your header and your other flowers as well. Such a pleasure this time of year to see the garden blooms. We watched the bees hide in the hydrangea flowers during a recent rainfall. Very cute quilt.

That's a great quilt, Michelle! I love using up leftover blocks in quilts. Our flowers are so pretty - it really is good to see bees and butterflies coming to our gardens, isn't it?

Such beautiful flowers, Michele! I love your quilt. I know what you mean about using up fabric. My goal is to use up as many scraps as I can! I'm not sure that's ever going to happen. Sewing is very calming to me so I'm not sure what I think about. I think my mind tends to rest from my daily problems.

Thanks for reminding me about I Spy quilts. I need to make some for donations. I've been on a mission this summer to donate completed tops to the local church who make many quilts for shelters, etc. Love those hydrangeas.
