Things I like..January 10, 2019

69 Days Until Spring!

Do you garden?  I step outside every now and then and just look at the beds and think...what am  I going to do with them?  Then there are all the chores.
The path to the house has to be replaced and so does the front door.  We were supposed to have the path replaced last year but with all the rain, the contractor got behind.  City life and constant rain means we now have algae growing on the house so that has to be powerwashed.  I don't dread any of it!  Working outside provides almost immediate gratification when you see how improved it looks.

Little Miss starts dog training on Saturday.
This is what she does when she doesnt' like what I am saying.
Yup, just like a kid she looks the other way like she can't hear me.
More about that after we attend class!

It's a busy week here so I'll just wish you a great week!
For some quilt fun be sure to check out my previous post on the challenge quilts I saw at the guild on Tuesday night!!!

What a pretty path! Sounds like spring is (almost) right around the corner. I was just out looking at my attempted flower garden areas on Tuesday. Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Milo does that. And he runs from me when I have a pill to give. Not like Cole, but he and Scout are very similar. The saving grace? his antics make me laugh. And he snuggles with me. Scout is sure pretty, I am anxious to know how training goes. Milo was dancing around last night on our walk in the dark, and hit my knee from behind and undid what the PT corrected the day before... oy vey

Hi Michele! HAHA - Little Miss turning her head. She probably heard the word 'training' and isn't sure if she will like it or not. Scout, you will LOVE it. It will keep your mind focused and active, and it will help with mama's back. Win/win! Your path to your house looks so inviting and welcoming. 69 days - woot woot! Happy Thursday to you. ~smile~ Roseanne

What a great entrance to your home. Living here in the "desert" I never heard of algae growing on a home! That's a lot of work. Enjoy your day! mary

I think your path and front door look very inviting! 69 days until spring sounds doable, lol! I'm ready now, but will count down the days with you. Scout is so pretty - I hope she does well at her training. I enjoyed your photos of the guild challenge results. What great ideas!

This morning I went out and raked leaves out of part of the backyard and wandered about imagining where seeds can be tossed and cuttings can be planted. If I had more soil in the can, I would've planted some baby succulents in pots. I didn't care that it was cold.

We have a large stone pathway and steps and they are in need of fixing as well. It's hard to get it all done...we added a railing and steps last year on the end of the veranda where the inspector said there should be some. Our metal roof needs replacing too. But meanwhile, thanks for the reminder that we are on the down slide to spring. With a frostbite warning in effect overnight, I needed that! Gorgeous photo of your pup! Good luck on Saturday!

I know just contemplating about spring, planting. Imagine my delight to see my new rose I planted last year has shoots coming up. Here is hoping I keep it alive!. My house needs painting, but as large as it is, and I am going to say it hasn't been painted in decades....it is going to be very expensive.

A pretty path. I swear the bad ones are the cutest.... at least that's the case with guinea pigs. ;-)
