This week I'm grateful for air conditioners. It's high summer, the temperature and humidity are in the high 90s and I'm so grateful for the blessing of air conditioning. I do remember that no one I knew had this blessed invention when I was a kid. You had to go to a fancy store or a theater to experience the blessed breezes of relief.
This week's meme is on what kind of fair food do we like? I suppose as a kid I liked ice cream and cotton candy. These days I can't bear to eat anything heavy. I am appreciating Italian Ice when I want something sweet. I bought a box of the little cups at the grocery store and it hits the spot on these balmy days. I also wonder if you ever were served french fries with malt vinegar at your fairs? We loved that and never put ketchup on our fries.
I wish I could post more photos but my phone doesn't download onto the computer anymore. I can't carry the camera everywhere :(
Wishing you a safe and happy day!

Yes we do love AC too! I really don't know how I survived without it as a child, but I guess we were used to it. We did have an enormous AC window unit at each house we lived in, but you pretty much had to stand in front of it to get cooled off, and Daddy almost always had us open our bedroom windows at night, "so we can get a cross-breeze" - lol! I've never tried vinegar on fries - guess I should!
Out current house is the first house we ever lived in that has A/C. Lots of houses do now. My brother’s home does not, my sister’s home did not, our daughter’s apartment in Loveland CO, does not! I’m truly grateful, though this year has been so cool we haven’t turned ours on yet!
I’ve never tried malt vinegar on French fries! I’d probably like it!
My son was just back in Pennsylvania visiting Valley Forge and Gettysburg and he said it was quite warm and humid! We westerners aren't used to that humidity. So I know why the air conditioning is such a blessing! The Italian ice sounds delicious and refreshing!
We have ceiling fans in most of the rooms and do have ac but it isn't that great. We have had a punishing week of high temps and humidity. I think its my age and that I'm not used to such heat that it affects me so much. In Newfoundland on the Atlantic, even on the hottest days, there was always a breeze. And humidity was practically unknown. But as you say, it is high summer now.
