It's been many months since I participated in "To-Do-Tuesdays" blogging. As I wrote about last week, I was just having too many problems with my hands to commit to finishing projects in a timely manner. The hands aren't cured but I'm willing to do a list--even if the list takes me longer to complete!
Link up to Texas Quilt Gal to see other fine projects that bloggers are completing!
One thing that is completed are my placemats for our guild's Meals on Wheels drive! Some are holiday themed and others are not.
1. Bind Rowen's quilt. He is the grandson of a neighbor and recently turned 2 years old. I just started binding the quilt last night and work only 15 minutes a day to keep my hands from getting inflamed. I know that this will probably take 2 weeks at this rate.
2. Finish my Sunbonnet Halloween wall hanging. I've decided to machine bind this since it is just a small piece for our house.
This is all I can commit to right now. My mother is having a hip replacement on Thursday and I know that caring for her will keep me very busy.
Have a safe and happy day!

Hi Michele, your placemats look beautiful! Sorry to read about your hands, but I'm hoping you get relief. I'm looking forward to seeing your Sunbonnet Halloween quilt!
Thank you for joining up with To Do Tuesday!
Your placemats look great, Michele! They'll be so fun for the recipients. I'm glad you're being careful with handwork for now. Sending good thoughts for your mom's surgery on Thursday, and hoping that the recuperation will be easy for her!
Those placemats are beauties. I know I would love to see one on my tray. Hang in there and pace yourself with the hand stitching. Hope your MOm's surgery goes well...there is so much success with those procedures these days. I would like to see your Sunbonnet Halloween piece too.
Hi Michele! There's no rule that you have to get your list finished in a week! It's better to give your hand a chance to heal and the pain to subside. Your placemats look fabulous!! This is something that I want to get involved with. I'll have to look up our local chapter and see if they can use placemats. And, a Sunbonnet with a Halloween theme?!! I can't wait to see that. Take care. ~smile~ Roseanne
Have you tried machine binding? I started putting on all my bindings by machine. It's saved a lot of wear and tear on my hands and they look quite nice if you do them right.
