I like Thursdays: October 3, 2019

Hello and Welcome to I Like Thursdays!  Hosted by LeeAnna at Not Afraid of Color, visit our friends who bring sunshine to our world each week!

What's new in your world?  We are getting some much needed rain.  It's only a light rain but we'll take it.  Hopefully it will continue throughout much of the day.

We like our dog friends!  Tinkerbell came to visit on Saturday.  I still can't walk on my ankle and so Scout enjoyed some friend time with Tink.

It's the end of an era here.  Our neighbors Denise and Ken have finally taken down their swing set.  We have so many good memories of the kids (the youngest is a sophmore in college) playing there.

Our granddaughter Helena is the smallest fairy.
These photos are 10 years old!!

I've been working on handwork this past week.  Finished binding this quilt and working on some embroidery blocks now.

My mom has been showering my friend Beth and I with suffrage gifts lately.  Look at the bracelets she bought for each of us!
The charms are each suffrage posters!  We are thrilled!  We'll be traveling to Wilkes-Barre next week to visit the Pennsylvania Quilters and give our trunk show that highlights women's suffrage!  We'll be sure to wear our bracelets!!!

I hope you have a great week!  Stay positive!

Hi Michele! Aww, it's sad to see a swing set come down. An end of an era, indeed. Maybe they'll need another sooner than later for grandchildren. I love your quilt with the alternating orange and black frames. Very cute. Playtime for Scout with Tink I'm sure was very fun and rambunctious - good for getting rid of some energy. ~smile~ Roseanne

That suffrage bracelet is really cool! And that's awesome that you guys do a trunk show on suffrage! There's a regional SAQA art quilt show touring around right now in the midwest themed around the declaration of sentiments. All art quilts loosely inspired by the suffrage movement and women's accomplishments in general. Is your trunk show modern quilts or historical quilts? I'd love to hear more about it!

Oh, how nice to have happy memories of a swing set. Hope that ankle heals soon. What a great looking quilt.

Things like swingsets in the yard are reminders of so many good memories, aren't they? In our yard there are little toy cars left from our boys and their friends playing there years ago. Your special bracelet is really neat and so appropriate! Hope you have a great trip to Wiles-Barre for the trunk show, Michele!

Awe swing sets....such bittersweet memories. The laughs and giggles. Jeff had built a swing set that went through 4 families and came back to us for the grandkids. Neat bracelet. Your flowerbed looks so lovely.

Love the bracelet! Where did she get it? I remember when we tore down our play fort; it was definitely bittersweet!

Scout looks lovely... growing into adulthood. People usually say how calm Milo is... and he can be but not always. Yesterday at the neighborhood festival he was calm, then two little girls petted his tummy, then when they ran so did he! And he outweighed them but they luckily have their own big dogs and knew how to deal!
