I like Thursday: July 26, 2018

Greetings from Northeast Pennsylvania where it has been raining and raining and raining...
I Like Thursday is a day sponsored by LeeAnna at Not Afraid of Color.  Be sure to celebrate the positive things in life!

I like and understand this meme....do you?
This kind of marking goes for our cars as well :D

New dishes!  Mom bought me some new everyday dishes.  They were made by pioneer woman brand and go so nicely with our vintage style kitchen and my red Hall's collection!

Scout's new haircut!  She is much cooler now!

Scout is my dear little girl.  I was sick all weekend with a virus/flu thing that is going around our neighborhood.  She wouldn't leave my side and insisted on sleeping with me each night.  She is also entertaining like when she guts her new toy in no time flat!

Mostly these days I'm doing this:

Carol has been moved to another rehab facility at a nursing home.  I'd be lying if I didn't admit that her stroke has really knocked the stuffing out of me.  She has become such a big part of our family and we are all missing her.

Next week, Sandra and Dennis are coming for a visit.  I know I've changed because I'm not rushing around trying to prepare everything.  Sandra and Dennis are family at this point and they will understand that we've been busy and that there is dust in the house and the garden is just a mess with all this rain (which is continuing through to their visit).

Honestly, I'll just be glad to hang out with our friends.

So that is my gratitude for this week.  Hope you are having a wonderful summer!

Hi Michele! I just got into someone's car the other day, in the back seat, and said that I see their dog had been back there recently too. The window had cute little nose prints just where I was looking. Oooh, your new dishes look fabulous - I love red!! WOWEE - Scout got a haircut like I did. I'm much cooler too but I sure hope it goes out enough for the wedding on 8/17!! I hope you are feeling better - it's no fun being sick in the summer time. {{Hugs}} I am glad to hear you are not stressing about having friends visit. They have dust at their house too - so do I!! Enjoy them and laugh a lot. Happy Thursday! ~smile~ Roseanne

I have been a little under the weather this last week too...pollen I think is the culprit. Raining a lot here too after a near drought. Weather!
I keep glass cleaner under the kitchen sink because I have the two noses to clean up after. LOL
I actually have some of your dishes too...I found them at Walmart and love the colours. They are very sturdy but Pioneer Woman sells out quickly here so I only ever find bits and pieces.
Hope you are feeling better and soon and get to enjoy the visit.

Whew - looking at Scout makes me think I'm overdue for a haircut myself! ;-) No fun feeling under the weather - hope you're feeling better.

I enjoyed the peek in your cupboard - love the red! Scout looks nice and cool with her new haircut. I think worry for friends or family can really knock you down - I hope Carol continues to make progress and you're feeling better!

HA I'm coming to play with my girl Scout - seeing you and The Former Ghost and getting to visit Carol is icing on the cake :) I don't give a *** about dust - I have dust bunnies as big as Princessa, LOL. In fact - the guys delivering the new fridge today, knocked some papers off of the bulletin board in my stairwell going into the basement, and chunks of dust shaped like strands of linguini, fell off of the papers (??!!) as they were falling onto the floor - I couldn't figure out what was happening until I tried picking up whatever it was that had fallen :D I think some of the linguine was from the top of the bulletin board, too. Who knew dusting a bulletin board was a thing? Not me! See you soon :)

It's great to have friends and family that you know you don't have to clean for - enjoy the company! We could use some rain in the UK and back home in Montana, so feel free to send it our way. I laughed at the 'doggie' window - in our case, it's cat litter that gets caught up in the foot pads and then distributed around the house - you never quite get it all! Enjoy your weekend ahead.

your dishes are so pretty! I just love red dishes, and scout is growing into a lovely young poodle isn't she! Astounding coloring. Milo has been playing with a gray poodle, 2 and almost finished turning gray. Her name is lilac. Scout and Milo both have those long skinny legs. (He's nosing me now to get my watermelon) and I'm sure I have snot on my arm now. It's raining here daily now in "dry" colorado... hard tornado hail blowing sideways rain. Today our humidity is just 10 points under Marylands! The ground is soggy with standing water.

It would be great to have the kind of friends you didn't need to spruce up for, that got it! I hope you're well enough to visit, now that nurse Scout has healed you.

Milo is still puppy but starting to calm a bit and I see the adult he will be. He hates to be alone though.

Love "Noah's quilt for your rainy days. LOL on the dog window. I have those same Pioneer bowls and love them for soup or salad. Stay dry girl! Hopefully, Carol will be home soon and getting some normalcy in her life.
