Old Maid's Puzzle

I'm beginning to catalog my "utility" quilts.  This one is from the fifties and it is the kind of quilt we might have taken to the beach or on a picnic.  No, I'm not doing that but I remember growing up with quilts like this that we used that way.  The workmanship isn't the greatest but I like the odd colorful jumble that it is.  We also don't see this pattern very often so it is a neat quilt to have.
Have a great day!

I love the quilt! Can we see an up close of some of the pretty fabric patterns, too?? I don't think I've seen that pattern. I love the floral zigzag? blocking fabric. :-)

Mickie it is a great quilt and I agree the coloring is very nice indeed. Love old style quilts myself. Patty pat

It's wonderful!!! I remember treating my quilts in a terrible fashion when I was a kid... we pulled them onto the floor and played cars on them, laid out in the sun on them, had picnics on them... etc... Totally unthinkable now that I understand how much time and energy and love went into making each one. But I was ignorant about quilts back then.
