I feel like I have a lot to be grateful for this week.
My first thankful item concerns my friend's grandson who was recently hospitalized. Michael had a heart transplant when he was only a year old. He spent his fifth birthday in the hospital. Gratefully, he is now stable and we just learned this morning that he is not rejecting his heart. God is good!
Scout. She continues to improve but our world is considerably smaller since she is in the new phase of heat. She can get pregnant now so our walks are limited to small areas of our neighborhood where we know the dogs and we are constantly on the lookout for boy-dogs approaching. Fortunately, we have Greta to play with at my Mom's. The two dogs have been playing daily and Scout is no longer intimidated by Greta. They are best pals!
I'd like to try to try some new techniques and play with around this idea. Carol is willing to join me. I'm hoping it will be a lot of fun!
I finished another scrap quilt top last week. It combined scraps from three different quilts I made for teenaged girls:

My neighbor and sewing compadre Carol are going to have a table at a local craft sale on Sunday!
The sale is at St. Catharine's of Siena on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Carol will be selling her aprons (she made a ton of them one winter when she was stressed out) and I will be selling my greeting cards. If nothing else, we should have fun! Here's a blurry photo of one of my racks:
Carol and I have a new project for the 2018 year. I was inspired by professional quilter and writer, Eleanor Levie. I like Eleanor a lot and have a number of her books. She was at our guild again this past year and I was so inspired by one of her quilts. It was a journal quilt and each week she finished a different block to reflect what was going on in her life that week. Here is (still another) blurry photo of the quilt.

Tomorrow is going to be unseasonably cold and our annuals will finally die. The high will only be 37 F degrees and the low in the teens. Sounds like a day of sewing and baking to me! Have a wonderful day!
As always, be sure to visit the other I like posts by visiting LeeAnna at Not Afraid of Color!

Yes... they are playing "my teeth are bigger" Milo's obsession. Scout is getting taller, almost like Greta. Milo isn't in heat exactly but my baby is growing up. He lifted his leg to pee several times this week. This is exciting as he drenches his front legs peeing by squatting.
Good luck with sales and you're right, it will be so much fun with Carol and meeting people. LeeAnna
Best wishes on your sales- I always like the handmade cards. I am intrigued by the idea of a journal quilt. hmmmm.
Thanks

OHHHHHHHhhhh so many hugs sent to Michael - what wonderful news that he's doing better and not rejecting his heart - his family and friends must be over the moon with relief :)
Scout - you stay away from the bad boys - listen to mom and play with Greta! :D (BTW, your video didn't work for me - not sure if it's on my end or yours ...)
Good luck with the table on Sunday - make sure you get pictures at the sale - I wish I was closer because I would show up and surprise the **** out of the pair of you!
The quilt top is sweet - it'll make a nice gift for a young lady, and has made a dent in stash - that's always good :D I'll be watching for your and Carol's take on the 2018 project - maybe Carol should start thinking of starting a blog ... or maybe she could co-post on yours for updates on that particular project ;) Tell her HI & HUGS from me! I finished up a project this morning and got a photo to send the pair of you ... watch for it later :D
Scout looks a little concerned about the state of things in that first photo! Lol! Glad she can get out and play with Greta at least. She is such a beautiful dog! The idea of a yearlong diary quilt sounds intriguing. It will be fun to watch your progress!
Hi Michele,
I am so thankful to hear about little Michael and his heart. Oh, how scary for everyone involved. I am sure his birthday can be celebrated any day because after what he has been through it truly is a lot to celebrate. Scout looks so pretty and proud, sitting so nice in the picture! I love the idea of the journal quilt - that can be so interesting, or it has the potential to be. We, too, should be having a killing frost tonight and that will be the end of the annuals. Sad, because my geraniums are still going strong. Amazing for November. ~smile~ Roseanne
I like the picture of the church spire it looks huge. LOL I like you little girl, but I am sure it is worrisome.
sO HAPPY FOR YOU ON THE GOOD NEWS!! Good luck on the sale of your cards...hugs, Julierose
Imagine a heart transplant at that tender age. Modern medicine is miraculous.
Good luck with the sale and have fun chatting. I too love the idea of a quilt journal. Reminds me of the Quilty 365 I took part in last year. I still miss making a circle a day that reflected something about the day.
So glad to hear that young man is ok - wow he's been through a lot for such a young age. Tell Scout to keep her legs crossed. Good luck with the craft sale, I've only done that once and we had a raging blizzard that day, nobody came! Love your new quilt!
