I Like Thursdays: November 20, 2025

Greetings and welcome to another edition of "I like Thursdays"!!  You can see other positive posts at LeeAnna's blog, Not Afraid of Color.

I like this gladiola:

The flower bloomed a few weeks ago.  We've had temps below freezing, high winds, and even some snow flurries on Monday night.  This plant just keeps on standing there.  It's become a neighborhood favorite for the walkers.  We can't believe it is hanging in!

Across the street, my neighbor adopted a beagle puppy.  She loves beagles and he was just a wee thing about 2 months ago.  He's growing now and named "Picasso".  Lucky knew he was there since Picasso moved in.  But I wouldn't let him meet him until one night this week.

Both dogs waged their tales like crazy.  Picasso bayed like any self-respecting beagle.  Then he began to approach Lucky.  As soon as Lucky moved, he ran back to his mommy and hid.  Then he would come back out...howl like crazy and repeated the process.  Neither my neighbor or I could stop laughing and Lucky thought it was fun too.  I'm hoping one day they become friends!

Lana's prompt this week is:  "Do you remember making construction paper turkeys in elementary school?  using your own hand? coloring them in or pasting on cut out colored feathers? taking them home and having a parent put them up in the house?"

I don't remember this at all but I do remember my daughter and grandkids doing the hand-turkey craft.

Wishing you a safe and happy weekend!

I love that things are still blooming in November, too! The little beagle sounds like someone to make friends with. Hopefully, Lucky thinks so, too!

It's so nice to see any color this time of year. That beagle puppy sounds adorable. I hope the 2 dogs become friends!

What a great story of the dogs meeting up. Yes, I hope they become friends too. Gladiolas are my birthday month flower but I have other flowers I like more. But this one is gorgeous so I must rethink my idea about them. Thanks for sharing, Michele.
