I like Thursdays, October 26, 2017

Welcome to the weekly check-in of positive energy!  Our hostess is LeeAnna from "Not Afraid of Color" and many wonderful likeable things are posted on this day.  Please check out the others at LeeAnna's blog.

Scout got bathed at Jessa's this week and Jessa had a nice new handkerchief for her.  This fabric Jess bought with Scout in mind.  It has little black poodles on it!  She got the fabric at Joann's and apparently they have the print in aqua, red, and orange.  Oh yeh.  I'm getting some.  I'm already crazy about aqua and have a stash of red poodle fabric anyway.  Check it out!  You can see it here  online.

It's autumn!  That means beautiful colors, sweaters, and of course...
In the spring and fall a big part of my cleaning is pulling things out and deciding what to keep and what to donate.  Here's what my sewing room looks like when I'm in the midst of this chore.  I actually enjoy this.  It was a tradition at my grandmothers' to do this in the fall and spring and I adopted the task even as a young girl.  Didn't wear it in the summer--GONE!  Fabric I'll never use--GONE!  Afterwards, I feel like I'm starting the winter (or summer) with a fresh slate.  It also means I can find things with more ease.

Other things going on?  Well Scout is in heat and she has a bladder infection.  It's a long story and one that I don't want to go in here but we are dealing with everything.

I hope you are having a wonderful week and have a colorful and happy weekend!
Cheers!

Sounds like a poodle quilt is in order with the lovely poodle fabrics. I also clean out in Spring and Fall.Fun. I don't envy Scout's situation.

I also just did a big cleanout with needing to take a load to a thrift store.Just hope I don't end up buying my own stuff back!! Groomed dogs in cute scarves are the best.

Hope Scout feels better soon. The weather still has been warm, but I'll do my closet cleanout when I swap for winter clothes. I agree - it's good to get the unused stuff gone!

Hi Michele,
Scout looks quite happy and pretty with the new scarf. I love the aqua against the curls! I would say yes, you NEED to get those other colors of the fabric from Joann's - hurry! I admire all your cleaning. You have to snap an after picture of your sewing room looks like now that all the purging is complete. I love seeing people's sewing areas. ~smile~ Roseanne

I love that your groomer dresses Scout in a new bandana made specially for her! I would definitely go looking for more of that poodle fabric. Hope she gets past the challenging stuff quickly! Your fall clean-out looks and sounds like a really good idea! Happy Thursday!

Like your idea of a clean out. I like the teal kerchief.

Growing up we had huge German Shepherd and Newfoundland mutts, and even though they didn't get haircuts my mom used to take them to her friend who was a groomer to get baths every now and again. She didn't have handkerchiefs but she would put little bows on their ear hair (using small rubber bands). The bows were really the right size for little bitty dogs, so they looked super funny and adorable on our big giant dogs!
