I like Thursdays, July 27, 2017

Welcome to the one day a week I force myself to blog and express what is good in our part if the interwebs.  It's "I Like Thursdays" hosted by LeeAnna at Not Afraid of Color.  Be sure to check out all the other sites and bits of happiness at her site.

This is the late addition and here is what I like...having my computer/iphone repaired via the internet.  Just completed and happy to have it done.
I like my brother Jim:
Scout likes him too.  Jim and I are "Irish twins"--only 11 months apart.  We are very close and he and his wife live down the street from us.  He is cuddling Scout while Greta observes.

I like sewing but haven't been getting much done.  Scout doesn't seem to want to be in the sewing room much.  Even when she is tired, she prefers to sleep downstairs in her own bed.  It's a poodle thing.  She likes her routine and I've got to adapt our schedule or let her sleep in the crate.  She is way too young to be left alone on the first floor.
A rare nap in the sewing room.
Speaking of Scout, she is growing leaps and bounds.  Lately she has found a toy that she likes--an old can that was in the garden that I used to shovel soil into flower pots.  Scout is obsessed with it.  It doesn't have any rough edges and she thinks it is the best toy in the world.

I got a little sewing done.  I finally finished the 99 blocks I needed for my one goddaughter's quilt.  These are the blocks.  Not sure when I will be able to piece them together.
It's been raining and raining here.  Today I filled three garbage cans full of weeds and there are plenty more but it is about to rain again and who knows when it will clear up.

I hope you are enjoying your summer and have a wonderful day!

I Like that quilt! Very cool work. I looked around for Milo today, and found him sleeping in the studio! Wha??? The last two weeks he wants to be in his downstairs crate all the time! Today he was my studio dog so I worked and it felt great. He has lost and replaced so many teeth this month. Even two canines he wasn't supposed to lose til 6 months. He's gonna need braces if his gigantic teeth won't fit in his nearly 5 month old mouth! He's a funny mix of bold and frightened. I liked seeing Scout cuddled... and look at all the gray... she's a beauty and going to be even prettier. She still seems delicate, like a girly girl to me in photos.

Glad you got back online... we missed you this morning. Gotta keep our spirits up these days. Oy.

Hooray for wokring internet/computer/phone! What did we ever do without it? :). I'm always surprised at how much your puppies remind me of human children - the best toys are usually not the ones you buy in the stores, are they? How nice to have your brother live so close. It looks like Scout is very fond of him, too!

Your brother is a good uncle to Scout. She sure is a cutie!
Yeah. My cats like the bags and boxes their store bought toys come in...and they also like the shower puffs! Oh my, what a good time those are. But I have to keep them away from them, Wouldn't want them to swallow some of that tulle and have to pay to get it removed! I only have one dog right now who likes his "babies" and he likes just those. He sits with them in his mouth like pacifiers!
I too love that quilt and the colors. It will be fun to see how you finish it...when Scout lets you have the time!

Irish twins - don't think I've ever heard that expression before, and I'm Irish, lol! Your quilt is just gorgeous!

Irish twins...a common term at home in Newfoundland but I didn't think many others knew it. Lucky to have your brother close and to be close.
Scout is giving you so much pleasure. That quilt will be beautiful.

I started weeding the vegetable garden yesterday - I don't enjoy gardening at the best of times, and picking groundcover (I mean weeds, but there were so many it LOOKED like groundcover!) in the sun and underneath itch-inducing cucumber plants, really didn't make my day, lol. I ended up with 1/2 of a garbage can (the small desk kind) of weeds, and by that point I had reached the limit of the wedding I could do while sitting on the ground beside the garden. I didn't want to have to do all the bending (omg lazy!) so I did what I could from the sidelines :D I probably would have lasted longer had I gone out when it wasn't as sunny - the sun beating down on me was annoying me like crazy :D

I've never heard of Irish twins either - cool that you and Jim are so close - literally and figuratively :D Our kids are 17 months apart - I thought that was close!

I'll check out the quilt blocks next week in person ... and will have a chat with Scout about giving mom some sewing time *grin* :D
