Greetings everyone! It's Thursday and I try to remember to post on Thursdays for LeeAnna's "I like Thursdays". You can find her and a list of other participating bloggers here.
I like silence. I like thinking in quiet and after the morning news shows, I tend to keep the television off until after dinner. It's challenging when my husband is home because he likes to talk and he always has the tv on. I have friends that like "background noise" with tv while they are working; I've always preferred quiet. What do you like?
I found a new hydrangea on sale at the local market. Yes it is pink but doesn't have the red that the one my husband purchased. I had to get this one---

It had my name on it (and it was even spelled properly):
I'll put it out front of my dining room window in the fall when I plant all the bushes. There is a method to my madness. I'm trying to incorporate more flowering bushes into the garden as I get older. It's just easier to maintain.
I like my new seating area which is finally done and planted:
I like rain and today there is a sweet gentle rain coming down on the garden. It could rain like this all day and I would be happy.
We continue to enjoy Scout and my husband has taken to spoiling her in a way that he hasn't with our other dogs. He rocks her to sleep on his lap and let's her get into bed with him sometimes in the morning. We've been socially her more and more and last week she visited Brad's elderly cousins and did remarkably well. Yesterday we visited Beth and Bob and their dog Pepper. I was very proud of how well she did. EVERYONE is commenting on how calm she has become.
Scout likes to cuddle and here she is cuddling her pillow and who could not love this?
Have a peaceful and gentle day today!

I like quiet, too, but my husband likes the TV on. Fortunately, we've done a pretty good job compromising and don't have it on all day! I'm so glad Scout handled the fireworks okay. Our dogs never liked them. I am always amazed at how many people bring their dogs to the park for the fireworks show when we go down there. Hope you are enjoying a gentle rain this morning!
omg that last picture is awesome. Rocking her to sleep! Drew basically had to hold Milo most of the evening during fireworks! Milo's face is much lighter now... I wonder will he turn blue too?? I really like her bed in the picture where did you find it?
I am back and forth on quiet. Lately I do like more quiet but there are times of mindless sewing that I love a book, or an old movie or old sitcom on. Interesting. I think sometimes keeping my thinking self busy allows the creative self to roam.
I like quiet too but sometimes play the radio music softly in the background. I would be so relaxed in your garden. nice. mary in Az
I think I like quiet sometimes, but like music other times. I keep thinking I should play classical music in the background but forget to do so!
Hydrangeas are the best and flowering Weigelas are also low maintenance and pretty. I planted a Burning Bush this year because their vibrant red leaves are pretty well into the fall.
That photo of Scout is a keeper; how lovely he likes the cuddling.
Your scout puppy is so sweet!!! The silence thing is interesting- my dad likes to have the tv constantly on, but it drives me batty, especially first thing in the morning while I'm still waking up and trying to greet the day. But I do tend to listen to music or audiobooks while I'm having studio time, sometimes it helps me stay focused or helps me not get bored if I'm doing a boring part (ahem, sewing bindings), so I guess for me it just depends!
My mood decides on quiet or no quiet. Some days I just cannot stand how quiet it is, other days the noise is too much.
Scout is adorable! Maybe she is calm because she gets rocked to sleep. She is feeling secure!
Rain is great. I get quite a bit here, but I don't mind it really. I have to leave doors or windows open because I love the sound, it is so soothing.
I like QUIET. I hardly ever turn the tv on...which is funny, because I have two tv's in my sewing room! The little one is the only one I have an antenna for, it's used for weather reports if it's storming, don't watch the rest of the news, or old tv shows....the big one is for movies. I'm getting quite the collection of old movies but hardly ever remember to turn them on. That's the one thing that attracted me to this house is the quiet - although now we have neighbors and it's not as quiet as it was!
How nice to have a flower named after you. Especially you! Your garden is divine. Scout is such a doll baby!
Count me in as a television on all day for white noise fan - I never listen to the radio, but I do like having the TV on when I'm puttering around. I have one in the sewing room but I generally put it on shows I'm not really following - I just have it for when I need to take a break and rest my eyes or stretch my legs.
Do you know - I'm not sure if I knew your name was spelled with one L --- or not! Now I know though, although I think you'll always be Mickie to me - I never think of you as Michele :D
Give Scout a kiss!!
