Friday bake day

Today is baking day here!  We had a good steady rain this morning and it seemed like the thing to do.  Only two days ago a neighbor gave me a zucchini the size of a baby.  I've gotten six loaves of chocolate zucchnini bread out of it!  Two are still in the oven.
I love the recipe at allrecipes.com for this bread.  You can find it here .  What I really like is the cinnamon in the recipe, it gives the bread some zing.  People go crazy for this bread (cake) so I'm happy to have so many loaves to give away.

My poor husband used to love this bread but then he was diagnosed as gluten-intolerant.  When the last loaves are done, I'll make him gluten free brownies (his favorite).

The house is hot anyway so I'll bake away and get it all done at once.  I hope you are having a wonderful day!

Oh my goodness Mickie thank you - I was sitting here reading blogs and totally forgot I had stew meat cooking on the stove, almost ready for the potatoes and carrots. As soon as I saw your words "baking day" I remembered - you've saved the stew, lol! Steady rain here today too, rain stretching all the way to Lake Michigan....and I do have to go out in it. Enjoy all your baking hon, I'll pass on the zucchini!

My fence neighbour (my side yard fence is her back yard fence) has a lovely garden, and I've posted before about her fence treats - she often leaves garden goodies on top of the fence for me (I LOVE THAT!), but she also sends over baked goodies :) Today she was feeling bad for me (I've been battling a health issue that doesn't seem to want to clear up, and I'm getting quite tired of it!) and bad for herself (her beloved doberman died on Canada Day), so she decided that doing some baking would make her feel better. I ended up with a lovely loaf of olive bread, which hubby, myself and our oldest son demolished for supper. Not even CRUMBS left - we tore into it like crazed wolves :D When her zukes come in, she'll be sending over her fabulous zucchini bread - I don't like the veggie, but I do like it in cake with chocolate frosting, LOL! Hmmmmmmmmm maybe I better try getting to bed by 11:00 so I can get back to walking, because zucchini bread season is almost upon us :D
