I like Thursday, January 11, 2018

Welcome to "I like Thursday"!  A day of positive energy sponsored by LeeAnna at Not Afraid of Color.  Please visit here to find more happy blog posts!

Like most people on  the East Coast, I'm grateful that the arctic weather has dissipated.  Scout is glad too since it means she can go out again on walks.   At least as much as we can these days, a lot of sidewalks are still icy.

So....with this all in mind.  I like that there are
68 days
until spring!

I'm already dreaming of my garden but needed a little joy and these alstromerias fit the bill.  One of my favorite cut flowers, these beauties last for a good two weeks and keep our dining room feeling happy.
Our Scout has been a little crazy without her usual walks and we are grateful that she can play with my Mom's dog, Greta.  Scout also has a new passion.  She loves feet, socks, and Carol's boots :D
She doesn't eat them but prefers smelling them.  We call this Eau de Carol Cologne. :)

I finished the blocks for the snowflake quilt and will piece that together later this month.

But I found some 4 inch blocks and decided to piece together some donation quilts.  Right now, I'm not following any particular order in projects; they'll all get done in good time.

What are you working on?  I hope you are going to have a wonderful week and a great day!

This is the time of years to have flowers in the house! Need to have some cheer. And I swear boots are the best smelling stuff! I knew a husky pup that would just about wear them on her nose around the house. lol Love your quilt blocks. Very pretty!

Dogs are funny aren't they!
I love the colour selection for your quilt. Is it a donation one? It think someone will find it very special.

pretty haircut Scout. Milo loves shoes, he brings every stray shoe into the family room, near his toy pile. Luckily doesn't chew on them yet but wants them close. Like us, he want's us close too.
quilt is striking, and really speaks winter

Hi Michele,
HAHA - Eau de Carol Cologne. I love dogs!! And woot woot to 68 days. I will skip and dance over that number. Yippee. Ooh, love the snowflake quilt-to-be. Can't wait to see that all together after the cutter and diversion of the 4" blocks in over. Happy Thursday! ~smile~ Roseanne

I'll say again how pretty that quilt is. Yeah our Murphy enjoyed slippers very much and I think it had to do with the smell. Their sense of smell is just so good. we have had a break in the extreme cold but are bracing for more snow tomorrow night. Are you getting any of that?? Oh and what a lovely flower that is.

Will I make it another 68 days, lol!!! Although it felt like spring today, went running errands without a coat even. Not tomorrow though, we're getting ICE. Scout is cracking me up with the boots....too funny!!! Your snowflake quilt is just gorgeous, Mickie, well done, those should go together pretty quick. Enjoy!!!

Those flowers are pretty, and so welcome this time of year! Funny Scout with her nose in Carol's boots. That gave me a chuckle! Your snowflake quilt is going to be so pretty - I love those colors!

I like what you are doing with those 4" squares. Sometimes simple is the best.
