I like Thursdays #17

I like the early signs of Spring!
Okay, to be honest we are in the midst of a false spring.  I love the light that comes with the spring season.  Solar spring began in early February.  It makes me happy to get up early with the sun and I love the light!  However in February, we are not supposed to see daffodils buds surface:
Of course we could still get another snow storm, but the plants that I see surfacing will be able to take the snow.  Spring means there is a LOT of work to get the garden ready, and even more so with a (hopefully) new puppy arriving later in the spring.

For now, I'll enjoy the early blooming jasmine that is beginning to bloom:
And the rose bushes are awakening with little leaves peeking from the branches:
A month ago, I found a spring-like baby quilt that I had to purchase:
I like the color in this piece.  It reminds me of a watercolor and was made in the late 1950s-early 1960s.  I'm posting this for our hostess-with-the-mostess, LeeAnna from "Not Afraid of Color".  She created these Thursdays celebrations and you can explore more blogs with this theme by going to her blog.
Have a wonderful day!

cool idea for a quilt. Sort of a floral celebration! Nature continues in her cycle... regrowth, new color replacing the brown of winter, giving hope with each shoot. LeeAnna

I imagine "false spring" is what you would call it here in Colorado, too! 65 degrees earlier this week, but snow today. I saw my first crocus the other day - that always makes me so happy! I love the bright floral fabric in the quilt, too. We need that pretty stuff when everythng around us is brown!

Just a few little green shoots poking up here-still pretty windswept and chilly--but at least the snow is melting. Your jasmine looks lovely...I've never grown it... is it a difficult plant? hugs,Julierose

Yep! False spring hit here and this morning I was surprised with an inch of snow! (weather gurus said snow at 1000', I'm am at 200'!!!)
I had a peek at a (I'm thinking) Daffodil buds at the side of my house. I've been keeping an eye on it, because I wanted to watch it bloom! That is my favorite thing this time of year, watching the color unfold before my very eyes!

I'm a huge fan of spring flowers, especially daffodils- and I love seeing your flower pics (are those first ones snowdrops I don't recognize them?). I too though worry that our stuff is coming out too early, both from an overall environmental standpoint, and also because I'm afraid we'll probably have a late freeze and lose our fruit, etc. Happy Thursday!

We had a pretty warm day today too - most of our snow has melted, but oh boy it's dirty and muddy and hazey (a dusty dirty haze on the ground, not in the air). And I found a lot of rabbit poop on my deck when the snow melted - yikes! I know the weather being so warm this early in the season has it's drawbacks, but I sure am enjoying the temperature and the sunshine!

LOVE the floral quilt - it's so pretty!

The snow drops in my neighborhood have made my week better too. Thank goodness for signs of spring!

Tho a little milder lately and even light rain today it will be a while before we see the ground, let alone buds. Isn't it a treat to spy them already. We are almost sure to have lots more snow yet. And bright flower fabric, definitely cheering!

I haven't seen anything budding [except the trees] but I haven't been looking, either. Both neighbors have low spots in their yards that are full of water, and now ducks!!! Crazy February!
