Having a heat wave...

There's a lot to what my friend Pam said yesterday.  She said that preparing for a heatwave is very similar to preparing for a snowstorm.  We do the preliminary work, have books and sewing prepared, and get ready to hibernate for a few days.  I certainly can't complain, it's been a great spring/summer so far and we've got the blooms to prove it!  The roses have never been better and prove the delightful weather; my own roses (above) have been spectacular even our city's rose garden is a breathtaking array of color.

I spent yesterday watering down the garden and have lots of water and jello in the fridge.  The boys are quiet anyway these days, both are getting over some slight illness problems (nothing serious) and need some down time anyway.  So if you are in the heatwave, or one of your own, stay cool and keep drinking fluids!

Have a great day!

I'm hunkering down in my basement - it's cold down there as I have the a/c in my sewing room --- I'm lucky I can stay home and out of this heat - I feel badly for people who have to work outside!

Your roses are MAGNIFICENT!!!

Those roses are gorgeous!
We've been having a heat wave for over a month now. We've already had temperatures as high as 105! It has cooled down now to the high 90's at the hottest time of day. I have to do all my gardening either early in the morning (when I'm too groggy to go out and work) or after about 7:30 at night (it stays light until nearly 9:00 now, so that is doable).

We just started a heat wave here in Massachusetts. Your roses are such a beautiful color, lovely. Thanks for mentioning Jell-o. It sounds perfect in this weather and I'll be mixing some up first thing in the morning.
