I Like Thursday: December 31, 2020

It's Thursday and time to fill the internet with happy energy.  I Like Thursdays are hosted by Lee Anna at Not Afraid of Color!  Visit some of my other blogging friends via her website!

This week's likes:

We weren't supposed to exchange gifts this year but I think my husband felt bad at how much I was doing caring for him.  Anyway, as usual he got me a long sleeved poodle shirt:
I love it!  It looks a lot like Kerry, my mom's new puppy!

I like that my husband fixed the dryer!

Of course it broke after he had his surgery and couldn't fix it.  It's surprising how old memories come back so quickly.  Suddenly our old radiators became invaluable as I dried things outside, downstairs in the basement and over the radiators (an old trick my Nana did).

I like tired puppies!
Each day we check on my mom and Scout and Kerry continue to romp.  It's always a good thing when Kerry gets worn out!

It doesn't happen very often!

I like clean sewing rooms.
We've all be doing a lot of sewing and yesterday I just couldn't stand it anymore and cleaned out the sewing room.  I'm almost finished with my latest Christmas top:
It's the "4x4" pattern from Missouri Star Quilt Company.  The pattern is free.  It's a modern take on an old pattern and I thought it would be perfect for a young family member.  I still have to put borders on it but I'll do that this weekend.

No matter how much I try to curb my Irish superstitiousness, it is just a part of who I am.  So I'll just say I'm looking forward to some new quilt patterns in the new year....and of course wish you a happy and safe holiday!

Isn’t it interesting how we can “make do”, if we have to! I often wish I had that wooden freestanding drying rack, I had as a young wife in 1964. Don’t get me wrong, I love my electric dryer, but sometimes!

Love that quilt....I’m going to search out that pattern!

Hi Michele! Oh yes, I remember hanging everything outside to dry. And we didn't have radiators but my friend did - we always put our mittens and scarfs on them to dry and/or warm up. Your Christmas quilt looks so very festive and so close to being finished. Yay you! {{Hugs}} a bunch and Happy New Year! ~smile~ Roseanne

The shirt looks so cute, and getting the dryer fixed is a gift all in itself! Cute dogs playing together, and I love the 4x4 quilt design, too. I'll have to look that one up. Happy New Year, Michele!

This is a tough time of year to have no dryer but you did good anyways! Have a Happy New Year!

Glad you got your dryer fixed. I have a drying rack, and my laundry room has an awesome vent, even the laundry room is tiny. So open the rack and in no time things are dry. LOL the tired puppy. Cute shirt. Happy New Year!

No dryer? I have one but I rarely use it. Sheets hung out before 10 am on sunny days - no matter how cold - always seem to dry even if they freeze first. And radiators are the best!

Happy New Year, Mickie!
