I like Thursday: May 23, 2019

Hello!  How are you?  It's Thursday and that means positive posts to brighten the internet!

One of my friends posted the work of Hungarian artist, Erzsébet Szilajka, recently.  I found these images fascinating!

I like puppies!!!
Scout has what we jokingly refer to as a "plethora of patient puppies."  They are really funny to watch.  A few days ago we were walking up a street and saw her dog friend, Luca sitting patiently looking the other way.  He was waiting for Happy another pup to join him.  Happy and Luca joyfully greeted each other and then they realized that Scout was approaching.  The two of them sat down and patiently waited for her to arrive and then..yes--they greeted her joyfully then all THREE of them realized that Milo was walking down the street and all three of them sat down and awaited Milo's arrival so they could joyfully greet Milo as well.  It was hysterical to see this.

It's a ritual we see almost every day.  Another day Happy and Scout greeted Mack the border collie in the same manner...

I'm still trying to get a head of the summer heat in the garden.  I know once we have a lot of humidity, I'll be limited in working outside. This week was perfect weather.  Cool in the mornings, warm afternoons and then comfortable again by twilight.  The city does pick up our yard waste but this week I had so much that I had to take a jeepful to the dump.  So much rain last year and this--the weeds grow as if on steroids.

Today is rainy and we've had a few thunderstorms already (and more later) so I'll catch up on some much needed housework and wash.

How is the weather where you are?

Lastly, I like sky surprises.  I was putting away my garden tools last night when I spotted an unusual thing in our city sky...and it made me smile.

Have a wonderful week and an amazing holiday weekend.  I'll be mulching but reflecting on the many men and women I have known who served in the armed forces.  Happy Memorial Day!

Hot air balloons make me smile, too. They are usually so colorful and sometimes quite humorous in shape. We have had no rain in over a week and are having to water our newly planted landscape. I hope you are clear of the storms heading your way today.

Those art works are amazing...talk about using what you have on hand, right? thanks for sharing your uplifting "I Likes" this week hugs, Julierose

Hi Michele! I find it quite fascinating that an Hungarian artist would find inspiration in Mary Poppins. How incredibly cool is that?!! Well, isn't it nice to have such well behaved puppy friends?!! Scout is very lucky and I enjoyed the mental picture you shared!! I am so surprised to read that you actually got to work in the garden/yard this past week. We have not had that luxury yet and it doesn't look hopeful for the weekend either but someday soon. I hope! Of course it is beautiful today but will be raining for the ride home . . . I would love to take a ride in a hot air balloon someday. ~smile~ Roseanne

the weather is cold. We still have snow on the ground. Which one of those is your Milo? My Milo is social too, I loved the story as each one came up.

We get a little bit of summery spring and then it reverts back to cool and rain. Can't seem to make up its mind!
However, it is so nice to read of your wonderful weather and the growing things. I saw the stone family on facebook and thought it so original and creative.
Love the way the pups all greet each other. If only humans could feel like that, heh.

The rock art is awesome. LOL about the dogs. We are like that at obedience school. We welcome Chopper, Finn, Brandy, and Pandora. I am envious of your weather. We have had cold, rain, wind, lots more rain. Sun today and it did dry stuff out a wee bit.

I love te stone artwork! The artist found exactly the right stones for each scene. Fun to notice all the neighborhood dogs and how they interact with each other! I also love seeing hot air balloons - a fun surprise in the sky!
