I like Thursday! June 14, 2018

What do you like this week?

I like baby ducklings.  They are so much fun to watch these days!

We have been seeing "Big Blue" one of our herons regularly too:

I like blue skies reflected in water.

I like poodle games.  It was raining and we threw the stuffy ball for Scout at my Mom's.

She tends to run away with her toys right now or a treat.  This time though, Greta went after her in another room.  For an hour we played this game.  We never did know how Greta got the ball from Scout but it was sure fun to watch them have a good time!
Speaking of Scout, she got a partial haircut.  We cut her hair on ears and tail really short because she is playing in water so much now, she can get matted.  She looks kind of silly because her head is small in relation to the rest of her body (which wasn't shaved down) but at least we don't have to worry about matting.

I like this needlepoint picture I found at an auction.  There was a note on the back saying it was made in Austria in 1937 by an eleven year old girl.  I think it is charming.  I am going to have it rematted soon.

Link up to LeeAnna for more likes!
Have a great day!

I'm surprised we haven't seen herons here. Maybe if we lived on the shallower end of the lake. Our baby ducks are almost grown but I still love seeing the family dynamic.

I'm almost to the point of shaving ears. They are matting like crazy on Milo. And his topknot too for some reason. Didn't have that issue with Cole's hair.

The pups are so cute! Mine are all short hair which means shedding shedding everywhere. And the needlepoint is really pretty, so fun to have the note on its origins! We don't have baby ducks much but we have lots of baby geese. At some point I'll get a picture if the mamas don't attack!

It sounds like Greta is teaching Scout how to bring the ball back to continue the game! The perfect friend! So fun to see the baby ducks, too.

Peep-peep ducklings! Neat needlepoint. And how great to have a bit of the history.

Oh I love to hear about the dogs playing...Murphy would love to play when younger but sadly Rex’s start in life meant he never learned to play and for some dogs, I guess that is important. I used to do only needlepoint for decades as my stitching...that’s a lovely find you have. I can tell you are enjoying this time of year like I am.

I love herons - my sister lives on a lake and sees them all the time - once we saw one in Buffalo, New York in a little strean near a Subway - we happened to be driving by to grab subs, and I saw the guy out of the corner of my eye - it was awesome!
