It's "I like Thursdays" and time to share things we like on the internet. For more positive posts from bloggers, visit LeeAnna at Not Afraid of Color!
We are near the end of August and the weather is finally becoming more tolerable...at least for now. We had 6 heat waves this summer which is an excessive number for these parts. We also got some rain which helps as well. This morning it is 58 degrees and perfect walking weather!
It's also perfect sewing weather and the attic is tolerable to be in again! I finished one quilt top and hope to work on another today!
Lana conversation starter this week is:
"what Dairy Queen treat did you like best? Do you still eat ice cream treats? how about milkshakes?"
Actually...we didn't have Dairy Queens here when I was growing up. We did have a lot of independent local ice cream stands but we didn't frequent those very often. We had ice cream at our grandparents: mint chocolate chip at Nana Betty's and At Nana Elsie's, novelty ice cream treats like fudgcicles, orangcicles or ice cream bars).
I still like ice cream anything but I prefer to make things at home. Milk shakes aren't the same as they used to be (processed) and I actually like ice cream sodas. The sodas are hard to come by these days. I had forgotten about those and might have to make one for my husband when he gets home.Wishing you a safe and happy weekend!

I like to think that the ice cream with your grandparents was way better than anything DQ had!
We are having a reprieve on the summer weather currently too. Yippee! Makes everyone happy! Have a good sewing day!
