I like Thursdays: October 22, 2020

Good morning!  It's "I Like Thursday" and time to share positive energy on the internet!  Hosted by LeeAnna, you can find other happy posts by visiting Not Afraid of Color!

Off in the distance at our neighbor's house, there is a skeleton hanging in front of our friend's house.  Poodles are very observant and they often let us know when "something is wrong, something is different!"  Scout stops every single time we go for a walk to gaze at skeletor (as we now call it) because it is just so wrong!😁

We like Alex.  She is a 1 year old Bedlington Terrier that has become friendly with Scout.  She and her mom both immigrated from England.  On Sunday, Alex came for a visit.  She was a wee bit intimidated but soon was exploring the garden!

I like to organize and get rid of things when I am stressed.  It's cathartic to me.  Clothing and small things I donate right away, but organizations don't want furniture right now.  I like that my neighbor down the hill is doing the same thing, for the same reason.  We put the furniture on the curb with a "free" sign.  The stuff is always picked up right away.  Glad it is going to anyone who needs it!  Here's one piece I put out:

We are in Indian Summer these days and enjoying the last of the warm weather.    I got to see my Aunt/Sister (she's my aunt but my age) last Saturday and gave her a Mary Engelbreit quilt I had made for her a while ago.  We all wore masks and sat at opposite corners in my Mom's large sunroom.  She only pulled her mask down for this photo which I zoomed from the other side of the room.

These meetings will be curtailed now that the Covid is rising and the temps will surely get colder.  But we are grateful to have seen each other once before the long winter!

In other news:  My husband had his epidural yesterday and though it has yet to work, we are glad that another hurdle to surgery passed.

Have a safe and happy day!

What a nice table you gave away. Pretty pretty quilt for your aunt who looks happy. I agree with scout- skeletons outside are wrong. Lol

Hi Michele! How nice that you got to visit with your Aunt and Mom. I'm kind of like your Aunt - my niece is just six months younger than me so we've grown up like friends. I LOVE that photo of Scout checking out the skeletor on a daily basis. Another week or so and it will be gone, dear Scout. Alex looks like she was definitely enjoying the garden!! ~smile~ Roseanne

It's good to have a watch poodle who doesn't miss anything! Alex is a very interesting looking dog - I hope she'll be a fun new friend for Scout, too. That looks like a pretty quilt for your aunt and so nice that you could get together! I hope Brad's epidural is starting to take effect!

Hi Michele, I loved seeing those doggies. How interesting to know that poodles are so observant. I'm pretty sure Murphy would not notice though I think she does have a good nose. That piece you gave away looked like it was good; yes, hope it has gone to a good home. How nice to have a little get together and such a cozy quilt for your aunt. You are generous. Continued good luck to Brad!

Alex looks a little like a lamb. lol. What a great photo of your aunt and the quilt. I need to schedule some time with my Mom before the weather turns cold. Yay for the epidural - hope it works soon.

I'm all too happy to put things out on the street for others, too. Nothing ever last for more than a few hours--it's kinda funny. Hope the epidural has some effect. My first one worked about a week which was a nice break; the second not at all. A little frustrating but it seems one has click off the boxes tho to get to through the whole thing.

What a pretty table someone was lucky. Hope the epidural helps for some relief for both of you. I am always surprised at what Bobbin notices out the window even though she can barely see out. Her favorite spot is the back of the couch in the sunroom.

Laughed at Scout's observation that something was wrong/different. My dog Gracie is the same way. Every year a neighbor around the corner puts out a creche at Christmas and Gracie gets freaked out for the next couple of days. After that, she'll walk right on by again. Lovely quilt for a lovely sister/aunt. Human contact is so necessary for us humans.

I hope your husband is doing better. I love the Mary Engelbreit quilt. I'm afraid Covid is making a comeback. The hospital is filling up again and getting busier. I love how animals can sense something isn't right. It's funny that it's a Halloween decoration!
