I like Thursday: May 28, 2020

Good Morning!  How are you?

I am good and grateful that we are going to have a few days of rain.  I've been doing a lot of work in the gardens for the last week or two and I need a break!  Of course the bonus will be that I don't have to water the garden either!

Scout won't like the rain though.  She actually watches for when the weather clears and let's me know in no uncertain terms that it is time for a walk!

When I'm not gardening, Scout and I are doing long walks at the park.  There's a few pieces of sculpture at this park that I like and the first photo is surely one of them!

This week our little solar bird bath fountain was delivered and we tried it out.  We mostly just want it to bubble because it  attracts birds.  There is a robin that now visits every day.  Not only does it bathe, but it is "taking the waters" so to speak and just sitting in the fountain to relax and cool off:

Other birds would like participate but usually the robin holds her position and eventually the others abandon their mission!

I haven't been sewing much because I'm tired and also we had some hot days which means the attic sewing room is really hot.
My sewing mojo is off a bit because I'm tired and achey.

Last week, I had a dream that most of my fabric--particularly neutrals were depleted and now what would I do during the pandemic?  It was real enough that I went upstairs to check my fabric stash--whew!  I'm fine but I found a little poodle fabric I forgot I had and decided to do something with it.  I was certain that a churn dash block would be ideal so I did a block to try it out:
Nope didn't like it.
Didn't like this one either!  At this point, I sent photos to my friend Beth, talked to her, and then did some other blocks and finally found a layout I liked.  I'll post that one once it's more done.  Hopefully it will be cool enough in the sewing room that I can get more accomplished!

I hope you are all doing well and I'll be checking blogs a bit more now that we have rain.  Take care and stay safe!

Hi Michele! How sweet is that photo of Scout watching out the window for the weather to clear?!! I love that she lets you know when you can walk. I am wondering what block fits the ticket for the poodle fabric. I can't wait to see. It's been hot here, too. Too warm to wrestle a t-shirt quilt through my sewing machine. Plus my sewing mojo has been waning. Take care, my friend. ~smile~ Roseanne

I've been considering one of those solar fountains, too. But I need a birdbath first ...

I have a wee bit of that poodle fabric, it's a fave. I want a solar birdbath fountain too! Tell me where you got it please, and I also need the recipe you sent to Sally for spinach pie. Thanks, and Scout, you are just beautiful. Milo would love to see you again. You've both changed since you were little litter mates.

That is a wonderful sculpture in your first photo! We have a sculpture park near us, too, and love walking at it. I did not like your dream, however! I'd have to go check my stash, too, if I had a dream like that... Have a great Thursday, Michelle!

Scout is such a cutie, as ever. I'll be waiting for the rain to end, too! Cool fountain! Happy birds.

Totally adorable things in this post, Michele. Scout, of course, the really cool fountain for the birds ( I need one!), and that poodle fabric in cute blocks. I've been a little off recently too...I don't know if it's tiredness from the isolation or the heat lately that drove me in from the garden.

Lovely sculpture in the park. I kinda like that 2nd block. Can’t wait to see your finished piece. I have not gotten my mojo to sew back yet. Hopefully soon.

Love the birdbath fountain....which reminds me I should probably get mine out of the barn. But my yard is a hot mess. Too much work, and my days off it rains. It is too hot when I get off work for more than 1 hour, or it is raining for an hour or so when I get off work. URGH! Love the sculpture and Scout waiting at the window to go out for a walk.
