I like Thursday: Think Spring! February 21, 2019

"Despite the forecast, live like it's spring!"

26 days until Spring!

How are you today?

It's Thursday and time for "I like Thursdays" hosted by LeeAnna at Not Afraid of Color.  Please join her to check out other happy posts!

Despite the spring countdown, it's still chilly here.  We had snow and more ice yesterday and last night.  Scout thinks it is a good time to cuddle with toys.

The weather is supposed to get warmer for the next few days and we had a nice day last week when the temps hit 60 F.  It was wonderful to visit the park with the puppy.  Hopefully we will get over there again in the next few weeks if the weather does indeed get warmer.

What do you think about when you can't sleep?  I plan my garden.  This year I am gutting the front yard garden and giving away a lot of plants to friends.  It's just time.  Somethings are growing out of control, other plants I simply regret.  Sunlight in the garden changes as nearby trees and plants grow.  It's time reassess.
Then there are the flowers I would like to incorporate.

I like David Austin roses and would love to have at least one in my garden.  They have this full old fashioned look to them.

I've always had foxgloves in my garden but this spring I intend to sow some seeds for this paler color.

I hope you have a wonderful week full of the promise of spring!

Spring is definitely near! All our daffodils are blooming.

the roses are as full as peonies! Would Scout touch the foxglove? It's toxic I think, but so pretty. Scout looks cozy in that cool bed, and we got Milo a version of it that he chewed up like the three before it. Now I just let him snooze on my sofa blanket since he won't destroy that, so far. When I can't sleep, it's weird thoughts that swirl about the day... some problem that won't go away that swirls and tangles and keeps me from resting. Garden planning would be kind of nice actually!

Only 26 days until Spring - wow! I'm looking forward to flowers - maybe I will be seeing some crocuses by then. Love your photo of Scout curled up with her toy!

Great white roses! I miss my garde and try to think of quilting when I can't sleep. We are getting snow very close to Phoenix today-crazy weather. It's the longest "winter" we've had in many years.

Your garden is going to be amazing. I always have a few of my Great Grandmothers iris bulbs in our garden. We are removing the grass from our front parking strip...putting in raised boxes for bushes and flowers.

Hi Michele! Aww, Scout looks so cute with her baby - nice and snuggled in. When you get finished planning and putting into action your garden, please come and plan mine. I hate doing all of that stuff, but so enjoy just looking at flowers. I guess I can't enjoy them unless I put the work in for them to flourish. Ooh, those pale floxgloves are just gorgeous! I can't wait to see your new and improved gardens. ~smile~ Roseanne

what a great saying. This post was a real treat for me to see, so many lovely flowers. Yes, spring is out there-just need it to swing this way, soon!

Your roses remind me of ones Mama grew when I was a kid. Their petals remind me of full skirts made of something like organza. If it doesn't rain this weekend, I'll start cleaning out patches around the yard for Spring sowing.

Ah, such pretty roses. My Christmas/Easter cactus is starting to bloom with pink flowers. I think it's early, but it's color, and that makes me happy. We've finally had some snow, so now it feels like we've had winter. But I am looking forward to spring more than ever this year.
