I like Thursdays: August 2, 2018

Well it's another Thursday and I have a lot that makes me feel blessed!  Join in the fun by visiting LeeAnna at Not Afraid of Color!

I took Scout to see Carol last Sunday.  I was hesitant to do so because Scout is young and can be a bit of handful (okay, she's a year old and she can get rammy).

I'm proud to say that Scout was phenomenal!  She was happy and pleasant and calm.  Carol was busy when we got there and Scout happily visited other residents and received attention from the staff.  You would have thought Seamus had trained her himself.  My good girl!!!  Of course, Carol enjoyed seeing her favorite puppy too!   Carol continues to progress.  She is gradually gaining some of her strength back!

We had a nice visit until Carol got tired.  Then I took Scout to our favorite park (which happens to be near Carol's nursing home).  It was a good dog treat and Scout enjoyed it so much!

Monocacy Creek has so many wonderful WPA structures in it!

Scout is particularly fond of watching the waterfalls...
And the geese that congregate at the top of the falls:
I like this coleus.  It's a new one to me the leaves are the size of nickels!
Last year the hubby bought me this hydrangea and it is small, but blooming!

I love this quilt that my friend Sandra from USA made.   I don't often get REALLY jazzed about quilt patterns anymore but this one has just tickled me.  I was thrilled when USA Sandra sent me the pattern...
Speaking of Sandras===I'm so excited because Sandra and Dennis are coming down from Canada and they arrive tomorrow!  We always have so much fun together!!!  This fabric shopping trip I'm going to try to get fabric for the above quilt.
Have a wonderful week!

I can tell how pleased you were with your Scout on that outing. What a lovely pet that gets you out and about and into parks.
I love coleus...so easy to grow and you are right, so many pretty varieties. Your hydrangea is a gorgeous colour.
Enjoy your visit and the shopping for fabric!

Awwwwwww maybe Miss Scout will be a therapy dog in the future - I'm sure she was great therapy for Carol and for the other residents - I can't wait to play with her :) Carol looks great - I really hope she's up for a visit or two - I can't wait to see her again :) I just printed out some Joanns coupons, and have been busy getting laundry/cleaning/last minute paperwork done before we leave. Must dig out my passport and my American $$$ :D See you tomorrow!

The coleus and hydrangeas are so pretty! That pink is my very favorite color. Most of the hydrangeas I see are blue/purple, so the pink is a bright change!

What a fun quilt! How awesome that Carol got a nice visit with Scout and everyone was behaved. The park is pretty - I'd have enjoyed a trip there, too!

wonderful that Scout was a gentle girl with your friend, who looks like Bonnie Hunt the actress. Scout is a pretty girl, and she and Milo both have gracefully long noses and necks. I met a blue last weekend, and so pretty. I think she and Milo could be service dogs, once they get their yaya's out. Love Coleus, and WPA projects and parks

What a lovely park! I'm pleased to hear your friend Carol is improving. Are those tulips in that quilt? So pretty. I'm looking forward to seeing your new fabrics for that.
