I like Thursday, July 5, 2018

I was too busy to post next week and I suspect this trend will continue as we all chip in to care for Carol and her family.

I like that Carol is stable!  The stroke has left her weak on her left side (she is right handed) but with therapy and hard work she should return to normal eventually.  In the meantime, we are awaiting to see when she can be transferred to the rehab.  She is very confused but that is to be expected with the injury to the brain.  Things will get better with time.

I love my baby who is such a comfort to me these days.

This is a game my Mom invented.  It's called "Big Dog, Little Dog" and they alternate tricks for treats :)

Scout has taken to pretend she has to go out to pee and when Greta gets up to join her--she steal Greta's toy.  Cheeky pup!

It's been hot and humid and it makes me nauseous.  I like that I haven't had Sandra's temps though.  She emailed me that they were at 111 F, we are just in the low 100s.  I'm grateful we received rain last night.  We really needed it!

We aren't even going to the park these days.  We walk at daybreak and sometimes at night but it's too dangerous to be out there right now.

And finally, I like funny!

Have a safe and happy week!

Sounds like good progress for Carol.
Those pups are so cute and wily!
I enlarged your list to read it...thanks for sharing; we can always use a chuckle.
Stay cool...I'm so unused to this heat we're experiencing.

Current temperature ... 32C feeling 42C - that's over 100F, LOL. My air conditioning has been running non-stop for days and days :D Thw dungeon sewing room is so cold that I wear a hoody down there. During this heat wave I'm happy to be able to escape to my cool *happy place* ;) Carol better be doing what she's told - she has a date with all of us on August 3 (although I do realize that might have to be rearranged)!. She's very lucky to have family and friends to help her through this - this is one of those "it takes a village" situations and she's lucky to have her village :) I can't wait to see all of you --- 4 weeks tomorrow ... wooooooooooooo!

Hi Michele,
Oh, I agree about the temperatures. The humidity just makes me feel nauseous. Rumor has it we may enjoy cooler and drier weather tomorrow. If only! I'm glad to hear Carol is doing slightly better. {{Hugs}} to all of you. Happy Thursday! ~smile~ Roseanne

I'm glad Carol is making progress.

This heat is just sucking the energy out of me. I can't wait for a break.

Gotta watch out for those wily pets! :-)

I'm glad Carol is stable and I hope she continues to improve! I'm happy you have your pups- mine always bring me joy and comfort (and a few eye rolls). That sewing advice made me smile!

I'm glad to hear Carol is doing better and that she has a wonderful support system to help! It sounds like Scout is pretty smart about getting attention away from Greta! Hoping for cooler weather for you this coming week.

OMG I am still laughing at the list of sewing! That was pure gold!

I believe Scout and Milo may be the smartest most mischievous poodles I've ever met. He also knows how to divert so he can grab a sock/rock/toy/shoe/food. He is incredibly fast cutting back and forth so we can't take said items from him.
Then when we stop he comes over laughing, wagging his tail, and snuggles us.

scout is really so very pretty with the mix of gray and black. Especially around her face so you can really see her eyes. Milo is going through a real adjustment to this third house he's had to learn. He has no friends here so he's pretty lonely. I drive back to the rental when I know I can find friends for him... I hope it eases for him soon, he's barking more.

It's a sorry state of affairs when one has to be thankful it's ONLY in the mid 100's not 111. Crikey. Colorado is just as hot, with little atmosphere to stop the intense sun. The heat and sun here makes me quite nauseous.

Haha Greta and Scout are just too cute!! Yikes that's hot, we've only been in the 90's and that's quite warm enough, thank you very much. Stay cool hon!~
