Friday sweltering sew in

I don't usually participate in the Friday Night Sew Ins mostly because I usually do some embroidery each night while hanging with the family and watching the game.
Last night I finished this block:
But it is sweltering here (just like most of the country) and tomorrow should even be worse.  I thought I would get some blocks done tonight too.   I'd like to make an child's quilt for our local oncology ward using this dog house pattern.  It's paper pieced (very relaxing) plus I have a ton of dog fabric and scraps to use up.  I think this would be a fun quilt for a child.
Of course it is important to have some fun while you are putting together this kind of quilt so I hope to add a few blocks with some whimsy like sneaking in a cow or two and maybe some other animals as well.
How are you staying cool?

What a cute idea for a child's quilt. I can't wait to see all the different blocks.
