Did you have a nice holiday?

LeeAnna asked us to share the best Christmas present we ever received.  Here was mine:

Paddie the poodle was the puppy my husband gave me for our first Christmas as a married couple.  I still miss her--and all my poodles--and am grateful to have Lucky with us now.

Yesterday was quiet but a lot of cooking and more today as the festivities continue.  My brother and I did most of the prep for the meal.  It's a tough holiday for Jim because it is the first Christmas without his wife.  We all miss her.

Today I'll be making a lasagna to take to my cousin's house.  We are staggering visits/get togethers and it's nice to prolong the holiday.

On a completely different note--I like that it's almost January 1.  To me, the new year always marks a new season of sewing.  I've got quite a few projects that I'm assembling for the winter months.

In a funny twist, teachers know that kids tend to absorb more learning in the early months of the year.  There are less holidays and events to distract children.  I think I tend to get a lot done during these months.  Do you?

Hello and how are you!

It's a quiet week here.  I'm happy because I did another purge in my sewing room and it makes me really happy to be there!

Lucky is still my little baby.  He's been a bit wild lately.  It was cold and we didn't walk as much as normal.  Yesterday and today the temps are better so I hope to get some more exercise in him.

I've been watching a show on YouTube called "Tasting History" and I like it a lot.  I tried to order his cookbook but I had to really hunt for it as it is SOLD OUT just about everywhere.  Today I'm going to try the recipe for pot roast that Max shared.  I'm pretty sure it will be really good!

How was your week?

Ours was okay although a bit uneventful.

What do I like this week?

1.  Lack of snow.  It seems like whenever we get snow in November, we also get a ton of snow in January, February, and March.  Here's hoping that it's a mild winter.

2.  Lana asked if we do real Christmas trees or fake ones.  I do quilted ones:

3.  I'm always grateful for silk or poly long underwear to keep me warm this time of year.  I can't function without my legs being warm!

4.  I like that my husband took over walking the puppy in the evening!  I think Lucky really enjoys that time with his Dad!
