I Like Thursdays: September 11, 2025

It's I like Thursdays and time for positive thoughts!  Join our hostess LeeAnna at Not Afraid of Color for more positive posts!

I enjoyed the Thursday Murder Club movie!  I don't have netflix but my mother does and we watched the one day I was doing things for her.

The thing I like about British mysteries is they don't tend to show a lot of gore.  There's also usually a sense of humor (and definately in this film).

The Brits aren't obsessive about youth or beauty either.  I loved when Helen Mirren was in a night scene and didn't have make-up on.  She looked like one of us!

I hope they do another movie together!

I like this empty cupboards and this quote:

I've been going through cupboards and getting rid of a lot of things while my husband has been working in Canada.  I'm not one for buying organization containers, etc.  I just figure you should get rid of things you haven't been using.

My husband...?  Well he has to find value in everything that we might "need one day" and promptly forgets.  It's been a good time for me going to the dump 9 times!

Lana's prompt this week is about school.  Did I get to pick out a lunchbox, did we buy lunch etc.

Most everything I had as a kid was a hand-me-down and my lunch box was as well.  It was plaid and not that interesting.  My brother and I did not buy our lunches.

Wishing you a safe and happy day!

  3. actually I quite love those red plaid boxes! I hate giving up stuff unless it's pretty broken, good for you to make space.

  5. Actually I’m a fan of plaid lunchboxes. Cool!. Speaking as a keeper of “things I might need” , I hope you’re not in the doghouse for getting rid of “something he wanted to keep”. I might still be mad after my new husband, I was 19, threw away my stuffed Eyeore, a gift from a friend. 😆😫

  6. Your lunch box is very like what mine was, a Scotch plaid. I totally agree with how we enjoy the British productions and how folks can look real in them and more believable in their roles. You have done so well to rid yourself of so much stuff. Feels good I bet.

  7. Movie was pretty good - although book was better. I hope they do more (I'd rather have them as a miniseries!). :-)
